Presentation Experience

I was invited to keep a presentation at the 7th International Partner Convention of Océ Document Technologies on October 23 in Meersburg, Germany. Topic was the integration of the document technologies we develop within a Microsoft SharePoint environment.

Below are the slides I used for my presentation with the title "Océ Document Technologies for SharePoint".

It was quite exciting to present for a fair share of our international partners, my colleagues, and parts of our management. Taking everything in to account it went quite well in my opinion. I got good feedback (positive as well as points to improve), and the break out sessions with the same theme I hosted the next day were well visited.

One thing went totally wrong though. There was no speaking headset, so I had to present with a wireless microphone in my hand. I had never done this before, and totally underestimated the skills you need to do this well. So what happened: As I tend to move my hands to emphasize certain parts of my presentation, I moved the microphone away from my mouth. So parts of the presentation I was speaking through the microphone, parts of it the microphone was floating through the air and I was sometimes hard to understand by the public in the back.

So this was an important lesson for me. I have to practice keeping a presentation with a microphone in my hand very hard, cause it simply looked (and sounded) silly at some moments during my presentation.

Hey, nice post after a long time of silence ;o)
It's a pity that the quality of your slide is decreased inside the presentation viewer. But anyway: the slides are really great! I would replace the duplicate missing pice slide, though ;o)
